Junior Boarding

Junior Boarding in Years 7,8 and 9 is all about building confidence, making friends and having fun. It is a time of discovery, where trying something new is celebrated and every small success creates a big sense of achievement.

Our youngest boarders share bright, spacious dormitories with their friends and develop strong relationships with our Houseparent team, who support them to settle in quickly. Our structured but homely routine provides plenty of opportunities for studying, extra-curricular activities, and keeping in touch with home.

After a busy day of lessons, junior boarders return to the boarding house for tea, free time, and supervised prep. Following a home-cooked dinner, they enjoy a wide variety of activities including baking, games, and movie nights.

We encourage our boarders to build strong links with the local community, and many of them join local sports teams, clubs, or junior cadets. Mobile phone use is restricted; however, our youngest boarders still have time each evening to call parents, siblings, and friends for a chat.

Junior boarders may choose to go home for a leave weekend from Friday to Sunday, or stay in the boarding house to spend time with their friends and make the most of our weekend excursions. We enjoy visiting local attractions and organising plenty of games, sport, and activities to keep everyone busy.
