School Productions

Burford School has a long history of staging first-class productions.

Every year Burford puts on either a musical extravaganza or enthralling theatre production. 

Every other year the Drama Department showcases a Lower School play for Years 7 - 9.

Recent Lower School plays:

• Monster Under the Stairs
• Arabian nights
• Once Upon a Time

Every two years the Music Department stage a musical masterpiece involving all years and capturing the attention and praise from the school and local community alike.

Recent musical productions:

• Beauty and the Beast
• Les Miserables
• Kinky Boots

During the years without a Lower School play, the Upper School tread the boards for highly anticipated dramas both brand new to stage and already loved.

Recent Upper School Play:

• The 39 steps
• Play On
• Dracula

Through these productions, we aim to stimulate and challenge our students and provide the opportunity for them to develop new skills and experience in all aspects of performance and theatre work, whether on stage or in a technical support role.

Many Old Burfordians look back on their involvement in our outstanding productions as one of the many highlights of their time at Burford School and often return to see the latest productions year on year.
