Burford School recognises the importance of a comprehensive careers education, information, advice and guidance programme to prepare students for making important decisions that will influence their future education and career.
We are committed to the highest possible quality of careers education, and actively promote both vocational and academic pathways, at all stages of students’ progress through the School. Our careers pathway illustrates how students are encouraged to grow in knowledge and experience in order to make positive career choices. This is achieved through our delivery of careers information and guidance, employer engagement opportunities, including mock interviews, careers talks and workplace visits, and work experience.
Our provision is constantly evaluated, reviewed and updated to ensure its high standard, as indicated by our high scoring on every Gatsby Benchmark, the framework developed by the Gatsby Foundation to evaluate good career guidance practice.
Our destination data also indicates our high standard of careers provision, with positive progression made by our students, whether at the end of their Key Stage Four or Key Stage Five studies.
