This is the Headteacher's Blog, which was first featured in issue 15 of the Burfordian, published on Thursday 17/07/25
As we draw the academic year to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate the energy, creativity, and commitment that have filled every corner of Burford School.
Whether it’s students designing mood lights in Technology, exploring French culture in the Loire Valley, performing on stage, competing on the sports field, or students leading their younger peers in their learning, these are just a few snapshots of the rich and varied experiences happening every day. Behind each opportunity lies countless moments of learning, growth, and connection in classrooms, studios, labs, and pitches across the school.
Throughout the year, our students have embodied our values: showing Respect for one another and their learning, choosing to Participate fully in all that school life offers, and striving to Reach beyond their comfort zones to grow in confidence and capability.
I want to pass on my immense gratitude to the incredible staff at Burford that make it happen, day in day out. We are blessed with the team of people here, that enable the students to grow and thrive, preparing them for life beyond the hallowed halls of Burford School.
As summer begins, take time to rest, reflect, and recharge. The break offers a chance to pause, reconnect with family and friends, and prepare for the opportunities ahead. Growth is nurtured in quiet moments, new experiences, and time spent with loved ones.
When you have read through this bumper final newsletter of the year, do take time to look at the End of Summer Term Letter if you have not already done so.
Finally thank you to parents and carers for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September, refreshed and ready for another year of achievement.
