Joining as a Boarder

Run with very much a family feel, our caring and supportive Boarding House is a home from home to just over a hundred students from the United Kingdom and around the world.

We are always delighted to meet prospective families and show them around the Boarding Department as well as the school.

We welcome boarders from overseas, provided that they have an appointed UK guardian who can act as a twenty-four-hour point of contact for the student, parents or carers and the school. All boarders must hold full UK Citizenship, a UK Residency Permit or Residential Status in the UK. In order to cope with the academic and social demands of life in the Boarding House, students must be confident English speakers. Tuition in English as an Additional Language (EAL) can be arranged for an additional fee.

As a non-denominational school, we welcome students of all religious beliefs or none, and offer the opportunity for each boarder to practice their own faith.

Applying for a boarding place - key steps

  • To apply for a place, please check you meet our boarding criteria, and complete the Boarding Application Form, enclosing a copy of your child’s passport and most recent school report.
  • If you are applying for a place in the Sixth Form, you will also need to complete a Sixth Form Application Form and have an interview with the Sixth Form team.
