L-R: Carol Amy Holdcroft, Burford Library Manager; Anne Youngson, a Friend of Burford Library; Mrs B Howard, Burford School Librarian
On Wednesday 6 December, Burford had the pleasure of hosting two distinguished guests, Anne Youngson from FOBL (Friends of Burford Library) and our very own Burford Librarian, Carol Amy Holdcroft. The visit was a delightful and enlightening experience for our Year 7 students.
Mrs Youngson shared valuable insights with the students on the importance of utilising our school and public libraries. She emphasised the joy of borrowing books for free, the convenience of accessing ebooks and audiobooks, and explained how to become a member of our vibrant library community.
In addition to Mrs Youngson's engaging talk, Burford Librarian, Mrs Carol Amy Holdcroft, informed the students about an exciting competition organised by Oxfordshire Libraries. Following the visit, we promptly emailed the details of this competition to every Year 7 student, encouraging them to participate and explore their literary creativity.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to both Anne Youngson and Carol-Amy Holdcroft for taking the time to visit us and share their knowledge and enthusiasm with our students. Such interactions play a crucial role in fostering a love for reading and learning among our young minds.
